Performance difference between BFG 6800GT (OC) and X800XL

What is your opinion on the performance difference in BF2 between these two cards?

Does the overclocking 6800GT give the BFG product an advantage over the X800XL?

Not really, because you can overclock both. Although I do not believe you can overclock the x800xl "as much" as the 6800GT. I have the BFG 6800GT and it's a beast. I can run BF2 @ 1280x960 with everything on high and 2x AA with no problems, frames keep around the low to mid 60's. Makes sure you have at least a gig of ram, preferably 2 gigs to keep everything smooth. Kicking the textures down to medium also helps a lot without sacrificing any noticable graphic quality.

Here is a little comparison (note that these are stock clocks, the 6800GT can overclock a LOT (mine hits 420/1140 stable, up from 370/1000 stock) :) which puts it up with the 6800 Ultra



You can't go wrong with either though, i'm a little biased towards the 6800Gt, but that's only cause i've owned one since december and hasn't given me a bit of trouble.

the 6800GT default clock speeds are 350/1000, the X800XLs are 400/980, overall the X800XL has higher clock speeds. But anyways, for the 6800Gt you have to do this +50/+100, for X800XL you have to do +0/+120. It's really not that hard, my card right now is already better than ultra speeds for core, and 20 mhz away for memory, 435/1080, so it's good. I have to tone it down for BF2, cause BF2 ain't Overclocking friendly for some reason.

go with the BFG Tech card...you can't go wrong there.

to bad clcok speeds dont mean everything can you put a x800xl in sli?

I thought only nVIDIA cards worked in SLi.
