If you're going to be overclocking, I'd go with a DFI motherboard, if not I might go with an ASUS board.

I'd try to get a better PSU, like an OCz Modstream 450w or 520w, but I haven't seen that case before, try finding one that doesn't come with a PSU, and getting a good one separately.

I used a Lite-On drive in my old pc, but I upgraded to a NEC dvd-r in this one and am very satisfied with it.

When it comes to hard drives Western Digital tends to be the cream of the crop, their Raptor 74 drives are definitely the premier gaming hard drive, using two would get you to around the same storage space, at a much faster rate, though each raptor will run you about $100 more / piece, but it's worth it.

Of all the things you have here, this stuck out to me the most as being the worst thing here, definitely go with a Viewsonic monitor, the VX924 is the one I use and it has the lowest response time (no ghosting) of any monitor currently available. There has also been a price drop to as low as $380 on newegg.

Can't really go wrong there, but that's a lot of $ just for windows, try finding a better price.

This is probably a bit out of your economic reach, but the 4000+ just went down $50 in price on newegg so you might want to check that out, although the Venice Core is the best you can get for the 3000+.

I would reccomend getting a Sennheiser PC150 headset for gaming, not only do you not bother anyone else in the house, but you can hear things more clearly, and if you're using any kind of voice - chat program, it's much easier on the ears for those on the other end.

Personally I would go for a better card, this card won't get you above Low / Medium settings at best, the nVidia cards tend to do a bit better in BF2 as well.

I noticed you didn't have any memory listed here... Do you already have memory you're planning on using?

I would say if you went with Nvidia you should get a 6800 I have one and I can run the game on high with no lag :)

Running something on high settings, and getting a good FPS with high settings are two different things.

If you're not getting a relative 90-100 fps at those settings, you're not playing the game how it's meant to be played.

Higher fps > higher settings.

Now when you say high settings, do you mean everything on high???

I'm sure that a 9800 pro couldn't run everything on high with a great fps.

I agree with a lot of the stuff that djstubbs posted in his first reply in this thread. Especially the getting a case without a PSU and to go and look for a good PSU separately like a Tagan/Antec/fortran.

Yeah those PSU might be good for a while but then... you have to get a new one so you might as well get a good one now.
