More GPU choices (again)!!!!

Ok i have a wide choice of cards to replace my x700 with, BUT the less i spend the more money i will have to spend on another part Later on in the year!!!

Although i play BF2 i play other games like HL2, CS:S and many more

ive always stuck with nvidia(the x700 was given to me) but im not looking forward to converting my drivers to nvidia and making sure the machine is clear of all ATI junk. So i would like enougher ATI card but im not to bothered about it.

reason for choice: Most upto date 24 pipelines, No money left for other parts.

XFX 7800GT 256MB DDR3

Reason for choice: Dont know much about this card, but seems abit of a rip off compared to the GTX version.

If you're tight on money get a 7800GT. The benchmarks for a GT vs a GTX show that the GTX only gets about only 5 fps extra on average.

Well, yeah, the difference is still the same, but the FPS for the cards increases at lower resolutions.

if you're gonna get a 7800 get a GTX not GT, Nvidia seems to have made the same mistake ATI did last gen and having their second best card have less pipes than the flagship, and in most cases the FPS is much more than 5fps different its more like a 15-20% difference

Yeah, you know a lot.... I bet you $10 if you take a GTX, hide 4 pipes and run it at 20 (what GT has) you will get like 1 fps less. It's not all about pipes you know. The next gen ATi cards have like 12 pipes but higher clocks. Xbox 360 has like 42 pipelines... their unified but still...

You have to take a look at benchmarks. If you play 1600x1200 than I guess the GT isnt good for you. But most ppl play on 1280x1024... you have to do research. You can't just look at prices, titles, pipelines.... you can only make judgements based on real-world benchmark comparisons.
