Periodical Lag!!

I popped home for lunch.
I connected to a server to play bf2, ping of 14. But I still got some lag...I get it now and again but not very often! Do you know why this might be?

It's really annoying when it runs great, then one day.blam.Laggy!

you need a ram upgrade..

lag is because some of the game textures are loading into virtual memory, which is causing slowdown when i loads those textures off it..

i'd reccomend a gig, but be aware that on all high gfx settings large maps like dragon valley seem to use around 1350mb of ram to load all the stuff..

Its most likely and FPS drop which is caused by your settings being too high for you machine.


Also, FEAR, I can run any map on all maxed out settings and I only have 1GB of ram.

Thanks guys, shame RAM is expensive as it's advisable to make sure their all the same make and size!! I used Belarc Advisor also from Crucial and it says that my max memory is 512Mb which I have now...but I have 4 slots...and only two are used.

Does it mean instead that I can only get 512Mb PER SLOT rather than in total?

512 is what you have now. Most likely your max is 4GB (1GB per slot). You can just get 2x512 from Crucial (match the speeds) and run 1.5GB in dual channel mode. You would definately see an increase in performance. RAM at that speed, is usually around $100-$120.
