I have a question about sound cards and BF2.
I currently have a SoundBlaster Live! X-Gamer...
Do I need to go up to an Audigy 2 or am I fine where I am at?
If I do need to go up, should I go up to the Value or is it worth it to go for the ZS?

no your card should just be find, make sure though you set your audio option to hardware and I dont think it EAX is needed.

I read though that the SoundBlaster Live! cards don't support hardware option (says in the readme).

I think I will stick with my Live! X-Gamer for now as it works well for me :)

I upgraded from Live Value to Audigy 2 Value. The sound is improved a good bit and it also made for a decent but not spectacular performance boost. I'm able to run high/hardware/eax and I was able to kick a couple of video settings up a notch compared to before. Probably more noticeable on my 3000+/333MHz/9800Pro rig than on more powerful systems.

The price was $40, which is cool because I have no intention of buying an X-Fi in the foreseeable future. If you plan on getting the X-Fi I definitely think you should save the bucks and hold on to your current card.
