My new AMD system, good enough?

I just put together my first built, looks great, the last component is coming in Tuesday. (7800GT) I am wandering if I can play on high graphics, because the only weak part about my system is possibly that there isn't enough ram.

The system:
3700+ San Diego (will overclock to 2.6-2.7) w/ xp-90
1 GB OCZ EL Platinum Rev. 2
XFX 7800GT
120gb hdd, fans, etc...

Is that good enough to run high no problems? Obviously it's a great system and I do plan on overclocking, but I am wandering if my ram is enough since BF2 is so ram dependant.
How much a difference will 512 more ram make?

Get 2GB if you can, solves a ton of problems, if not 1.5 gigs is just as well, although it will not be dual channel.

Nope. You need either 2 or 4 sticks.

I'm pretty sure it will be fully single channel, but the benefits of having an extra 512mb of RAM far outweigh the disadvantages of single channel. Your system is good either way.

grrrr... gonna be a while before I get another gig. It's expensive ram already, and I am just about maxed out right now. hehe

Dual channel will work as long as you have 2 sticks or 4 sticks of ram, ether all sticks being 256mb, 512mb, or 1 gig... usually motherboard's have 4 slots for memory, so slot 1,3 might be channel A and slots 2,4 might be channel B. So memory in slots 1,3 or 2,4 would be dual channel.

you should be able to run all high no probs, with that processor and that card especially.

I would say with any G70 card you would use 2GB, cause i know someone with a GTX and when he runs everything maxed out, it uses 1.2GB of memory, and he only has 1GB so it uses his virtual memory so the game slows down alot. If you plan to play at the 1100pixel resolution with all maxed out it would be possible to get away with 1GB of memory cause i think that only used like 800-900MB and that is just the game, not to mention windows and other services that are running already.
