Hey, I'm getting my new PC soon and I just wanted the final nod that this will run BF2 well.

Slick , but you can get a machine with the same spec cheaper , shop around . Local pc shops will build you one and probs save 2-300 sheckles !

How does that sound? That's £300 less than the one I origionally chose.

Don't get me wrong that's a very good PC and it shares a lot of the bits I've suggested myself. It's just I'd want to know what's the deal with that monitor. Personally I'm not too keen on LCD's but if you get one then at very least you have to have a good response time otherwise you will get smearing. Anything 15ms or less is good. If you can find out and it's ok then go for it. They say they build it for gaming so hopefully it will be good.

I found you this on ebay. A mate of mine bought a PC from him about 3 months ago. He changed a few of the specs for him to meet exactly what he wanted like adding more RAM and even delivered to his door as he said it was cheaper and easier than him posting it although I guess it depends where you live. Obviously need an ebay account though.

Not sure if a monitors included so you would probably have to add about £200-£250 to each price but you'll get to pick the monitor.

Any of these or the other one from meshcomputers will run BF2 and every other current PC game with every setting on high with 4xAA and 16xAF at resolutions upto 1600x1200. You can't really go wrong with any of them.

Well the thing is it doesn't give you any details about what monitor it is or it's specs. The things to take note of are the response time, contrast ratio, dot pitch. I've looked at a couple of their reviews for other PC's of similar spec and it seems they have used viewsonic monitors which are quite good.

The main thing though as I said before is the response time. It needs to be low for fast paced gaming like BF2 or you will get smearing. 15milliseconds or less is what you need and 8ms is about the standard for a good gaming monitor. A lot of cheapy LCD's have a 25ms response time which is not really suitable. Try and find some of these things out by phoning or emailing them.

I suppose another important thing would be a warranty or chance to refund if you are not 100% happy. If you can get these guarantees you have nothing to lose really.

Do you mean as opposed to getting a 20"? If so then no. Resolution is about how many pixels fill the screen up and down left and right. 1280x1024 is the correct resolution for a 19" and is optimum for getting good frame rates. The 7800GTX does allow you to run current games at 1600x1200 but you'd want a 21" really for that and you're talking way more money especially for a gaming quality one.

Also upcoming games especially unreal engine 3 stuff is not likely to run at 1600x1200 very well even with a 7800. The 19" is definately the way to go and if you run at 1280 with all settings on high and 4xAA games will look amazing.
