    Dual Geforce 6600GT 128MB or single Geforce 6800GT 256MB?

I am thinking about upgrading to a SLI motherboard and I was wondering which of these options would provide the best performance in BF2. Thank you in advance.

Single 6800GT. That way when the prices drop even more you can just pick up onother one.

I recomend you read toms hardware guide, they have a good story on if SLI is a good option. One of the points they came up with is that SLI is only a good option if you get two cards straight away and not get one noe and one l8r, as in a couple of months the 7800 ultra will be comming out and completly out class any SLI configuration of the same value as the single 7800 ultra. If you are gonna get SLI get it now and enjoy it, the 6800GT is soon to be old technology.

If you are really wanting an uber setup you should really be thinking about SLI 6800GT's Vs single 7800 GTX. The price will be about the same.

Yeah that is why I was wondering if the two lower end graphics card would be better that one higher end. Thanks for the sugggestions.

The 7800 Ultra is essentially a 7800 GTX with an 800 mhz core.

I could be wrong, but I doubt it'll be better than TWO 7800 GTX cards.

                  well 2 6800GT's equals 1 Ultra right? (i read that somewhere) so it would make sense that 2 7800 gtx's = 1 7800 ultra

It's been reported that some G71 (the codename core for the 7800 Ultra) boards are reaching 800MHz yes.
If they are released like that then ATI will have to push their 32 pipeline R580 out at breakneck speed in order to keep up.

6800 GT...in general better performance and not soo buggy =P

                          7800 Ultra...sounds like maybe 28/32 pipelines (think: they did release a 20 pipeline GT), 450-500mhz+ core and 1500+mhz DDR3...
