A Little Help Regarding My Spec

Its my first post so be gentle. I'm looking to get Battlefield 2 but have a few questions regarding my spec. I'm sure it'll run but I'm looking for advice as to what will be the part that holds me back the most. Currently I have:

P4 2.5 ghz
768 mb DDR Ram
128Mb ATI Radeon 9700
Creative Labs 5.1 Sound Card

Is this enough to get medium settings and whats the best thing to upgrade. I'm thinking of whacking in another 1.0 ghz of RAM, is this worth it or should I be going for a better graphics card. It seems to run FarCry nicely with everything maxed out.

Any help or advice is welcome.

To answer your questions.

1. the most noticeable thing holding you back there is your RAM, upgrade to a solid 1 gb or 2 gb for optimum performance.

2. no it's not enough to get medium settings.

3. the best thing to upgrade would be to get an amd 64 bit system with a gig of ram and a 7800 gtx, but it all depends on how much money you have to spend.

First of it;s GB or ram, not ghz.
Next your ram and your vid card are your main problems.

Yeah, you'll notice a big improvment with 1.5 - 2 GB of RAM. Thats coming from somebody who had 512MB and now has 2GB. Theres a massive improvment in shuddering, esspecially when you start the game. I've got the 9800 pro, but with a bit of a crappy processor, I can get mostly med settings but with some low to keep the shuddering down.

my specs are close to yours. i have a 9700 non pro o'clocked and i can use med. settings with 4xaa. of course when my screen is filled i get a bit of slow down but, its not to bad...if you want screen shots let me know.

Like all the other guys said...at least have 1 gig of RAM and go for a new GFX card. I personally recommend Nvidia and if you were to go that way get at least a 6600GT.

Thanks for all the info guys I kinda guessed my RAM and Video Card would be the weakest links. Time to go shopping again.
