Catalyst causing weird graphical problems?

I have an ATI Radeon 9600XT with the 5.7 Catalyst drivesrs. Everytime I start up a game like Battlefield 2 or Freespace 2 textures will start disappearing or turn into horrible multicolors. The sky will go completely dark and so on and so forth. Am using this on Direct3D, too.

Yeah 5.7 is notorious for that. To solve that problem you need to uninstall the catalyst 5.7 drivers using the ATI remove all tool and either go back to catalyst 5.6 or use Omega's equivilant of catalyst 5.7. At the moment I'm using Omega's catalyst 5.7 drivers and I am having no problems.
