Lol, no $hit! most repetitive game ever designed:laugh:

i attended a tech event by microsoft for school. And believe me, the complexity of the OS will leave most machines running on XP for years to come. You people are way in over your heads worrying about Vista, trust me you won't need it for a looooong time.

if microsoft didn't want people pirating their software, maybe they shouldn't make it $500 at release and NEVER lowering it. windows XP was like $380 when it came out a few years ago. what is it today? $380. 3 years i think it's been and the price hasn't dropped. sounds like pure greed to me.

Not sure where you heard it will support everything from way back in the day. It is actually written so that if it is not 32bit, it will not run. There is no 16bit => 32bit emulator like XP and W2k have.

Im gonna do like I always do, I get it but only after the first couple of service packs have been released. That way most of the major problems have been discovered and fixed.
Ive only been running XP for about 15 months now, and plan to do vista the same way. Oh, when I built my computer I checked and made sure enerything could do the 64 bit thing, still I plan to wait . . . . .Red

Some of the companies I do techy work for still use 16 bit software...sad.

The Nvidia's GeForce 7600GT, 7900GT and 7900GTX claims to be Windows Vista compatible on the box, nothing about DX10 though.

yeah I don't know where you;re looking for you can get XP for under 200 bucks. Why do all you guys hate MS so much. Sure they might have poor business practices and their software is buggy at times... but lets be serious.. who else is really competing with them? Who else is delivering an OS that's just as robust? NO ONE.... no even Apple. Because if they were... you'd all be running towards a iMac... So stfu you whiners. You complain about EA too. But no one is even competing with MS... so you don't have a choice.

I used the 'default' ATi drives when I tried BF2 on Vista - worked fine for me, but didn't let me pick 1280x1024, only upto 1280x960.

A buddy of mine said he could really see a difference with DX10 though, said things just looked 'sharper', so I took a few screenies compairing DX10 and DX9 and imo there is a slightly better quality in 10.

Edit: don't have the shots any more, but try it for yourselves

                            Scort.

Fedora Core 4 is just as good as XP, more reliable, more stable, and faster, also it cost £0.00 however its harder to use and people are lazy. Also Windows comes free with every machine store bought, i cant actually find a laptop to buy without windows on

The only think quoted which say s to me about the DX10 is

A graphics processor that runs Windows Aero2.

So i have just made up my mind , a graphics card upgrade at the moment is a total waist of time .

This may help with gaming onfo as well .

Me if it ships in Jan of next year then i shall jump on the bandwagon in Jan of 2008 and not before .

About the time i buy a new machine anyhow
