    Mobo's?

I was wondering, i have been looking at some good mobos compatible with my amd 3000 processor and i have heard that the ASUS-A8N SLI premium is a good board but its so expensive! its $175 at newegg. Is there any good cheaper substitue to this board or any place i can get it cheaper?

Oh ya, almost forgot, i has to be PCI-e

Newegg.com is one of the least expensive sites around. The Asus A8N line is a great line. DFI makes a great board as do Abit. MSI makes good boards too, but you get what you pay for and I'd shy away from a cheap mobo. After all the mobo is the backbone of the system. You can always upgrade other components later but you should start with a good motherboard. What's your target price?

Do you have a Socket 939 processor?

If so the cheapest is $110.

Most people who reviewed it only stated minor problems if any at all.

          Otherwise I'd have to see.

I would recommend SLi, only because in the future as cards advance games will become more demanding. Instead of having to grab a new card, you can most likely buy another 6800 (or what not) in the future and it will help you prolong the life of your system. Game manufatures will almost never build a game dedicated soley to SLi, if they did it would be death to the game, because most users still only have 1 video card.
