Well, considering you can get a 7800 GTX for only $500 now, I would say it is a pretty good choice to get one if the ATI cards are a lot more expensive. You also have to factor in the motherboard costs. So, if you do go with ATI, I would recommend getting them a month or two after they come out so that they are a lot cheaper. (7800 GTX started at $600? or 700? and it's $500 now)

You will extend the life of your computer even further by buying a SINGLE card now...and replacing it with a newer generation of card a year from now...using the money you saved by NOT buying a 2nd card now...and the money saved by NOT buying a dual card mobo(extra $40).

i myself am going for crossfire. I first found out about it in May where they said it would be out half way in July then Aug now it should be out somewhere in Sep. If i had not found out about it i would have been running with an Asus A8N SLI.

Anyway with Crossfire you can run both a Crossfire set up and an SLI setup. Yep you can have two Nvidia's SLI cards in your crossfire board!!!. Nice. As for pricing there will be 2 Crossfire Boards the x800 for $300 and the x850 for $400. So you will need to match it to the card you have right now. Crossfire should also have some nice features like High Def Sound, which will be the first High Def on board sound for an AMD board. I'm sure we can expect a lot more.
Still make sure you read enough reviews that will come out the first week before you buy.

That's better than 2 $500 7800's. Well then again the Nvidia's will drop in price, but who know's what Newegg.com will sell the Crossfire boards for. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
