Z-5500 for BF2? any good?

Hey all, i'm picking up a Logitech Z-5500 5.1 surround system tonight and I'm wondering if anyone here has it and can tell me anything about their impressions of it and using it for BF2.

It's nice, I have the cheaper version, the Z-5300e, if they sound great, your 5500's should sound better! Awesome bass on both models, the subs are huge.

All I can say is AWESOME speakers, I have owned two sets, the prior model to that one, and now the 5300. Awesome, awesome, awesome. I maybe getting these as well, but right now I have to wait.

The control center? It has an LED display that gives you info, as well as having a remote. I would get this so that I didn't have to get up everytime I was watching amovie to change the volume.

I have the 5300e's and they sound amazing on onboard sound. I bet if you plugged them into a soundcard they would be even better. I thought about getting the 5500s when shopping for surround but chose the 5300e's soley by the price difference between the two. Of everything I read everyone stated the 5500s were one of the best systems on the market. Everything is crisp and clear on my 5300s, and the bass is amazing for a computer sound system. Yours are real nice since they include a digital decoder, which means better sound plus the ability to plug dvd players into it. Dvd is sadly something the 5300s can't do since they are analog.

THanks all, I will enjoy, but sadly I have to wait another 2 weeks to get them in from Canada Computers, already ordered them. I have an Audigy LS, so i guess i'll be upgrading to a ZS soon for these babies. I'm also going to be hooking it up to my optical input in the back of my mobo for full Dolby digital support.

I get complaints from the people that live with me about the house shaking (especially when I'm rolling around in a tank). These speakers are an absolute blast for gaming. Owned them for a few months and I'm extremely pleased. If these don't satisfy you, I don't know what will.

Also, I believe the optical out on your motherboard is enabled through onboard audio, so that Audigy2 ZS wouldn't be much use. The annoying thing is that the only way to get optical in/out with the zs is by dropping $100 on the breakout box, which just means another obscene cable to restrict airflow (it's a flat cable, the horror...).

A friend hooked this system up to his onboard MSI k8n neo4-f sound...it is incredible!

If buying this and you have no sound card, at least try it first with the onboard...you might like it enough to save the money from buying a sound card.

The only thing I have read is that the Klipsch 5.1 Pros are a bit more audio-capable. But they also cost like $50 more (or more, forget exactly what it was). I'd stick with these though, as I have said, I have had 3 sets of logitech speakers, and love them all.
