decided to get pci card but know need help choosing

this is prolly my last post on video card related questions, but i need help choosing which card i should get since i went with the pci-e computer.

if you get the gt go by the ultra in that test becasue you can easily overclock teh gt to ultra speeds no problem.

wtf is overclock? i am new to pc gaming and i have heard it but i also heard that if u oc it, it ruins the card after a while or something like that.


also say u were me which card would u get and please give a reason why.

i was thinking of the x800 xl because i read it runs better when all things are on high, but i also read it has problems going on certain resolutions ( shouldnt be a problem though cuz i dont care for resolution really).

ok well what your hearing is ******** anywasy. id get teh 6800gt its futureproof because it has shadermodel 3.0 ati doesnt. its a better card imo, im not a fanboy i used to havea 9800pro and overclocking is fine as long as you dont overclock it to much and do it safely. your card wont die 3 years before it normaly would because its overclocked the BFG 6800gt comes overclocked stock from the factory.

Shader 3 has been around for over a year now and do many mainstream games support it apart from Far Cry??? It will only be supported fully whe the majority of the market owns cards that have SM3 otherwise its not worth the effort. By the time this happens, we will be on Direct X 10 with totally different requirements.

Id go for the ATI. At 1280 x 1024 (4xAA High detail) the ATI is almost 7FPS ahead.

Yea.....oc'd. Im only concerned with stocks here. Knock everything to factory and you will find the X800 XL is faster.

BTW 3DM 03 is not a real world benchmarking program.

X800XL hands down. The pro has 12pipes and the XL has 16. Much better card, MUCH. But if you do choose the other one, it runs BF2 High with 4xAA on my system
