1600x1200 resolution: Do you see more?

I just got my 20.1 inch that has a native resolution of 1600x1200

It will make the picture look more clear and crisp, however I do not believe you can see more. It may also adversely effect FPS with such a high resolution, especially with the 9800Pro.

For a 9800 pro 1024x768 would be suffcient. Newer cards lkike the X800 and 7800 GTX can handle 1600x1200 and even higher.

If you do have it on 1600x1200, turn of AA completely and you will get a better frame rate, but still have fewer jaggies.

I think 1280x1024 is a high enough resolution. Don't see the need to go to 1600x1200 unless you have a big ass monitor.

I run at 1600x1200 on my 9800 pro and 22" screen. I tried 1024x768 once and it got so jaggy and the picture just sucked. havent tried any other resolutions that might help the fps increase but still look as good as 1600x1200

Me too afterall its all about proportion, i have a 19" LG TFT (LG1980U) and its native res is 1280x1024 but because its such a big screen it just looks 'right' similar to how a 17" CRT say would look at 1024x768 in terms of size. My 19" won't do 1600x1200 but even if it could and i had the hardware to do it i still wouldn't run it that high.

Wow so last night i tried it on 1600x1200 (my native resolution) and it looks absolutely amazing. It looked "WAY" better than the smaller resolutions. It looks crisp, sharp, and there was no jaggies even though i had AA and AF off. Even the menus looked alot more crisp. When I have smaller resolutions on all the lines and font looked blurry like some pixels were trying to mix it in. When I had it on my native resolution all the pixels were exact (either white of black, not half and half) so it looked alot better. I think setting your resolution to your screens native resolution will look the best because its not trying to scale it to fit your monitor so you get crisp non spread out image. Ofcourse this only has to do with LCD's since they show the picture differently than CRTs. Its just oo bad i cant run it that hight without gettin crap framerates. Im almost thinking about gettin a new vid card. Oh knoes.
