i need some1s help with this. plz dont chose the 1 that cost more(i want good graphics not other features like tv out)and i can only buy at circuit city.
The X800XL is not a bad card by any means. Nor is the 6800GT. I have the X850XT PE (although mine is PCI-Express) and all I can say is this card tears everything up. I run BF2 with these setting:
The 6800 GT and X850XT PE probly have the same image quality except the X850 has 6x AA option, but the X850 will give you ALOT better FPS with maxed out settings. If your gonna compare a card to the X850 make it the 6800 Ultra.
Wow @ them charging 450 for that...you can get the same one from newegg for 315 i think. I bought my eVGA 6800 Ultra for only 25 more than they chargin for the GT.
can some1 answer in dumbass terms, which 1 has better quality outta the 6800 gt and the x800, no lag would also be nice also. o and i HAVE TO BUY AT CIRCUIT CITY. so im not getting off newegg or ne where else
FIrst off, you got a problem, the X850XTPE is AGP, and the rest are PCI-E, so it is gonna be bad if you can't run your new Vid Card. And second, the X850XT owns the otherones but quite a bit, the X800XL and the 6800GT are neck-neck if you look at it, they both have 16pipelines, the 6800GT has 400/1000 core/mem clock speeds and the X800XL has 490/980 core/mem clock speeds. If you have PCI-express, buy the one that fits u best, the 6800GT is good for Open GL games likeDoom 3 or Far Cry, but the X800XL is good for Direct X games like Halo and Half-Life 2. If i were you i would get the X850XTPE, it owns the otherones, including in BF2, i think X800XL also is better at BF2 than the 6800GT i believe, even though the game says Nvidia in the beginning, i can't make an inherent choice for you here, but i'm just giving you a suggestion, what's your current vid card now, if it is an Nvidia FX 5xx0(fill in the x with your number) or an ATI 9xxx than it is inherently AGP, if it is in the MX or Rage, then it is also AGP, also if it is X300 or X600, then it is PCI-e, just some suggestions.
Another thing to look at is the drivers...nVidia are known for haveing the best drivers for the Chip Sets as they are more stable and alot more reliable.
I would choose the 6800GT hands down.
can those cards play bf2 on medium/high? i play counter strike so games like that and stuff. pretty much bf2 and source so which 1 would appropriate for those games. also im buying this and my old 1 sucks but ne ways the 1 im buying has pci slot, so i want a card that wont lag cept internet lag on a full 64 person server.o and the x800 xl has a pci slot as u can see

Yeah, all the cards there can run it on high, i play with everything on high 1280x960, and that includes 6xAA, but you really have to look into your PC specs, you need to find if it has an AGP or PCI-e slot.

PCI slot or PCI-E?

Oh, yeah, i forgot about PCI, but if you have a PCI card, i'd be buying a new comp instead of buying a new VGA, cause PCI has been phased out of all recent cards.

I have the X850XT PE, and trust me, its an awesome card. The only card on the market that beats it now, is the 7800GTX, but that is a next gen high-end card so it should beat it. And at that it doesn't do anything the X850XT PE can't do.

Im just playin. Yeah I could've got either the 6800 ultra or X850XT PE and I'm more of an nvidia person so that's why I went with it. I really would've liked 6x AA tho, I didn't know nvidia's couldn't have it at the time
