X700 stops sending signal to monitor

Okay so I have a X700 Pro and it runs perfectly in game, however after a while it seems to overload and just all of a sudden conk out. It doesn't get boggy beforehand, instead it just all of a sudden stops, and my monitor turns to standby and says it isn't receiving a signal. I returned the card to Compusa but lost my 2 year $25 warranty (thats another story that is irritating me) and I'm waiting to see whats going to happen, but last night after playing continuously for about 45 minutes it happened again. Going to play a lot tonight to see if I can figure out if this is the card with my system, or if my first card was just a bad one, but does anybody else have this problem?

It may be overheating. Is your case well ventialated? Trying playing with the side panel off the case. See if it plays longer or better.

Yep i used 2 have that probleme , icplsickoll is right it is the overheating , i say just add a volcan 2000 as a new fan and you wil be fine , great way 2 keep hat ear out or maybe a cooling syteme .

Get some case fans installed on the side of the case........make sure they direct airflow over the gfx card. Also try and keep any other expansion cards well away from the gfx card.

If you're going to be removing the fan/heatsink to add arctic silver then you may as well replace it with a better unit. They don't cost very much and that will improve the performance of the card.

so you're saying I would be aswell just replace the fan, don't worry about arctic silver? Or should I do both? I was under the impression I would be adding a fan to what is already there.

do I get that one or do I need to get one specific for the ATI? the ATI specific one was $30.00 I think.

That is specific for ATI and your card, if you go to www.arctic-cooling.com you can see the models and which cards they fit.

I went and ordered this one, but on further inspection I'm not sure this is the one that fits my video card? I'm asking newegg if this is the case and if they can refund my money if it isn't. If it will fit can somebody chime in to ease my mind?

Well it's not a heating issue, I got a new fan from Arctic-Cooling and it just happened again. According to Everest GPU temp: 41C and GPU ambient: 47C

What else could it be? could it be something that will be fixed with the patches coming out? I may try and get a front mounted vent fan just in case it's something else heating up, these Dell's aren't made for gaming (thought it should run perfectly)
