Pentium M's and BF2

My laptop is a Pentium M 1.6 GhZ processor, which is actually pretty powerful. I know its speed is almost equal to a Pentium 4 2.2 GhZ processor. But, when I loaded BF2 for the first time, it crashed on the screen where it asks if you want to play multiplayer or single player. What can I do to make it run?

Other specs from the laptop fit the requirements :
1 GB ram
128 MB ATI X300

Also don't click "Play BF2 Now" thats the stupidest short cut in the history of short cuts. Just click the noraml "Battlefield 2" shortcut. Trash the other one.

I couldn't select anything on that screen. And I couldnt close the game. Does it take a long time to load the next screen or something?
