Is my computer good for playing bf2?

I got Intel P4 3,2 GHZ, 512 DDR mb, Nvidia Geforce FX 5500 wiyh 256 mb. Is this a good computer for being a HP Pavilion. Or should i buy a new memory who's higher like 1gig?

I would recommend 1 gig RAM, and an updated graphics card if you want a better playing experience. If you don't mind low settings, 1GB of RAM should be sufficient.

Yeah the memory is too low, even for bf42. Depending on which settings you'll run is how much ram youll need. With a FX5500 you'll probably run it on medium so 1 gig is enough for that, 2 won't be much of a diference.

The processer is fine. But rather get a AMD 64 3200+ instead. 1GIG ram and try to add a 6600GT

Dude AMD sucks if you ask me,
3.2 is faster than amd 3200,
Amd says 3200 when its not even 3.2 ghz

Your comp is fine add another 512MB RAM and get a new graphics card

                  Wow.....

No AMD does not suck. AMD is better for gaming, but not multi-tasking, that is until you compare the Athlon64x2's to the 8xx series from Intel. The Athlon64x2's out preform the Intels in every category across the board.

The 3200+ is called that because it is comperable to the performance of Intels 3.2Ghz (theoretically).

Now, compare the two dual core chips for a moment:

                  INTEL:
                  Worse Performance
                  More Power Consumption
                  Higher Heat
                  Requires complete system upgrade

                  AMD:
                  Better Performance
                  Lower Power Consumption
                  Lower Heat
Requires a 939 socket, which is already in use with Athlon64 systems

So please do a little homework before you shoot your mouth off. And don't dare call me a "fanboy" because I run 3 Intel systems at home, my next will be AMD.

As far as them not using their potential, this just means you can more easily OC them with the stock cooling. My P4 3.4Ghz stock cooler barely kept my CPU cool enough to play the game without restarting. It would actually get to the point where it would have to throttle back, and I have no wimpy case cooling (X-Navigator decked with full fans).

I run idel at about 50*C. AMDs are generally between 40-50*C (MAX) under a full load.

It really is incredible what people say on these boards. :|:

AMD never claims that 3200 = 3.2, i have no idea where you got that from.

For Gaming purposes, AMD is generally better. For Multi application running then intel is better. So for us BF2ers AMD is the way to go (it is also cooler can cheaper too).
