Of course. I use a clippy mic for everything. -
It will 'work', but you may piss off anyone you use it with. At the VERY least definitely use a Push-To-Talk (PTT) key, not Voice Activated. Else any sound around you, including others speaking on TS will get sent over TS by you.
That and any amount of background sound like music or a TV is a nono.
Much easier to just buy a pair of headphones with builtin mic. I like the Plantronics ones myself. Unless you have a well setup surround sound speaker setup headphones WILL also be better for giving you directional information about sounds ingame.
