Need a new vid card

I need one that isn't too expensive, but isn't too sucky either so I can play this game.

I currently have an nvidia 4000 mx and that just won't cut it. I can run half-life 2 on this comp but it will lag like hell on line I bet.

So, what's a good video card I could get for like 100-250 dollars? something that will run this game well, not extremely uber but also good enough so I don't lag...

advice please.

$100 to $250? thats alot of difference, you can get a 9800 PRO for $100 and play on medium settings or get a 6800GT for around $250 and play on high settings. Considering you have a decent CPU and atleast 1.5 Gig of RAM

this computer is like 6 years old so im trying to fix it up

I run on 1.04ghz and 768 ram..

what all should I buy...I'm not very good with this tech stuff. Bout a year ago my dad said he'd upgrade my computer, and he did.

It was originally a radeon 7000 graphics card(ugh) and 256 ram...he pulled it up to the nvidia 4000 mx and 512 ram, but I added another 256 stick.

I still want it better. Any advice would be great. Also, how much it'd cost me is helpful as well.
