    Dell Inspiron XPS Gen 2

I just my new Xps Gen 2 yesterday and it ROCKS!!!!!! 2.13 Pentium M, 2gigs of ram and 256MB Geforce 6800 ultra go. I have everything cranked to max and at 1600x1200 and it plays like butter. This is a true desktop replacement and it has what I believe to be the best lcd screen I have ever seen. If you're in the market for a laptop look no further. Wiltedjoint.

Thought they were widescreen, 1600x1028 or 1920x1200? Has to be one of the fugliest laptops out though. Wait till you need to call dell support :P

I've got an XPS 2 as well. Beautiful system, stellar performance, decent battery life, light weight for a DTR and Dell support has been fantastic.

It is widescreen but there isn't any support for that in bf2. Regardless it looks stunning in 1600x1200. As for it looking "fugly" that's just the bottle talking. This thing is gorgeous and you're a fool. Lastly it did cost a few bones but this isn't geared towards people who have to look at price tags i.e. porsche and ferrari buyers. It's marketed and sold to people who want the best and don't forget you get what you pay for. Btw why would I call dell support?

I dont need a desktop replacement because I have a desktop and a work laptop which probably cost twice what the xps does due to biometric security. My desktop machine probably wipes the floor from anything dell could produce and I built it for 3/4 the cost and probably twice the power gaming wise :)

If you havn't had to call dell support you soon will, we have had over 300 machines from dell at work so I have fairly regular contact with them, being an IT manager and lead IT buyer I can't fault Dell for costed products and value for money but their top end range is sub-par to say the least. You would have been better off purchasing a real gaming laptop instead of just a DTR laptop.

As long as your happy what does it matter what other people think though eh?

That is highly amusing... thanks for the laugh, if having my own opinion on things is being a fool then well yes I am.

                  Yeah, big pimpin!

Let me guess; you're <25 and don't own either a Porsche or Ferrari. But good job on the "my possessions make me better than you" snobbery.

Enjoy your new laptop, I'm glad it makes you happy; but in the end it's still just a computer.

I got an Alienware laptop when I was in college a couple years ago. Its great to play games in class but its just to damn big now. I'm looking to buy a thinkpad or a powerbook when they have the intel chips.

I didn't see any snobbery, just a person happy getting a nice powerful system to run games.....some people read into things too much at times.

You don't purchase a ThinkPad / PowerBook for gaming...
