Graphics Card Question #2

I have a RADEON X800 XL 512MB PCI Express.

How well will this run BF2?

I'm getting a AMD 64 3500+ 939pin
and a 1024 DDR 400mh of Memory .

Im My thread your telling me how this card is the "best bang for the buck" and you dont even have it? Your asking how well it it run bf2? Why am i not surprised.

Ok, the 512mb version will not be needed, it's 150 bucks more expensive than the 256mb version, and what does it give you? it gives you 2-3 more fps, you could get a X850XTPE for 376 bucks on newegg.com and that gives you 10 more fps than the 256mb X800XL, i've read 4 articles from periodicals about the 512mb X800XL, it's not worth it, the X800XL 256mb will run on ultra high, games won't need the extra vid memory until at least 2 years from now, the highest any need right now are 128mb, really a waste of money. X800XL 256mb is 300 bucks, the 512mb version is 450bucks, not a very good tradeoff for 2-3 fps, but it will run on Ultra High.

First off, the X800XL is 270 bucks on Newegg.com last i checked ( i was generous with the 300 bucks last time) and the X850XTPE is still cheaper on newegg.com, plus, the X850XTPE will still be better than any X800XL in any current game right now. Plain and simple, it'll run BF2 pretty damn well. I'd bump to 2gigs but that's just me. If you haven't bought the card yet save the $$ and get the 256M version. Yes I have that card.

Not a lot of games use 512MB cards at the moment the only game which can use 512MB a lot better then other games.

Has to be the D3 Ultra setting because if you have it on that settings it has a bigger texture file for its textures.

I reckon more games will be using 512MB card textures in about 2 or 4 years time thats what I think folks.
