Looks like a good setup to me. Your comp is unstable all the time or just with BF2?

Powersupply sounds dodgey then. I changed my PSU and it stopped my computer randomly crashing.

Have you reinstalled BF2 since adding the extra ram? It could be possible that BF2 still only detects the 1gb as that was what was originally in the game upon first install.

I know it sounds silly but I think some people at DICE were wearing silly hats and smoking some mad green stuff when they coded half this game.

did you try to save up on getting a $15 PSU? If so then that was not a good idea. Try a new good PSU

SASKRAT1 make sure if you make changes to any of your hardware after installing BF2 the first time you delete the BF2 folder in My Documents as this will cause instability and random crashes. Even if you uninstall and reinstall you'll have to manually delete this folder. Your PSU should be OK.

as far as i can see, 2 gig of ram is being detremental to performance, (also a few other posts on this site confirm this)

2 x 6600gts in sli aint that quick, are you trying to play everything maxed out?
atm sli gives only around 30% boost in bf2 :S
still less power than a singular 6800 gt around the same as a vanilla 256mb 6800

Nomad. Sorry I screwed up there. It's 245x9. I should've caught that when I was typing, don't know what I was thinking there.
