    Processor upgrade

I'm looking to Upgrade my 2.26Ghz Processor up to atleast a 3.2 with HT.
Is it just a simple case of a new processor or do I need a new motherboard that comes with the processor etc.

    Thanks.

you'll need to post your specs up before you can get any advise as there are a few factors for upgrading.

          Asus A8N-SLI w/AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ and 2 Asus EN7800GTX's. That's what I'm getting soon.

well your best bet would be to go to amd youll get better proformance in gmaes ask any understanding intel user thatif they had the chance theyd go amd, get like a 3200+ venice core, and a new mobo, 939 socket, you can overclock the **** outa a venice core and the 2ghz sounds weak but is equal to a 3ghz intel so i have mine running at 2.5ghz and will own any intel p4 3ghz processor.

AMD pawns INTEL big time so if your looking for a new processor you cant go wroung with a 64 bit AMD.

AMD beats Intel over gaming, not multi-tasking.

Anyways, why not just get extra cooling and overclock the 2.26 to like 2.6?
