    nvidia 8xxx series shader OC

The newest RivaTuner gives (also nTune might. I'm not sure) the option to OC shaders independently of the GPU. Have anyone tried his hand in this yet?

I read a review about this brand new factory OCed 8800GTS 320Mb which had whopping 650 Mhz GPU, 2GHz memory and 1,5GHz shaders and got interested. The temperatures were around 68C @ 100%, but boy the thing was fast. Almost on par with the default 8800GTX.

So I suspect I can do a bit more and try also the shader OC, but I haven't really needed to make the most of my card since I play at 1280x1024 and the thing is plenty fast for that.

Hmm, might try this for the Crysis beta and see what happens.

If your FPS isn't higher than the $$ you spent on the card, then no .

^I'm gonna use that. I like your reasoning.

As for the shader OC, nice stuff and very interesting. I can't wait to see what I can do once an 8800 GT comes out. Very Cool.

At the moment the 8800 GTS 320 is the best bang for the buck; however, that will probably change come Monday when the 8800 GT is released. From the way it looks the GT will take top bang for the buck value at $250 for the 512 mb model.
