    Logitech SetPoint and Vista 32bit

I'm currently having trouble assigning buttons to double as key presses. I never had any problems with XP with this. For example for thumb button I put 7 (which is grenade in 2142) but for some weird reason it does not work. I've tried all sorts of combinations and settings to no avail. With OS implementation or Setpoint implementation. Nothing seems to help. I've made the bf2142.exe

    All programs version:

    bf2142.exe version:

So how did you get it work?

Same.. I've tried to assign buttons with no luck. Never realized it was a problem with Vista. What version of Setpoint software are you using? I'm using version 3.3 and just saw that there is a version 4.0 available for Vista 64 (which I'm using). Will have to download tonight and see if that fixes the problem.

I just saw the update for Setpoint also. I didn't know there was one as when it does it's auto check for updates it says it is current. I am on 3.30.165 but will try updateing to 4.0 and see what happens. It does tell you to unistall 3.30 and then install 4.0

      Setpoint v4.0 for Vista 32 & 64

Okay, I updated to v 4.0 and it works to set keystrokes to the buttons on the side. However, everytime I use one of those it totally messes up my sensitivity settings. As soon as I use one of the side buttons it seems like the mouse goes to it's lowest sensitivity. Any ideas?

Maybe make a bf2142.exe game setting and then go to Advanced Game settings and there explicitly assign sensitivities to bf2142.exe. I haven't tried this yet since I'm at work currently.

To be honest this is annoying. I've been humbling all over the keyboard because of this problem and getting nailed badly while trying to pull out fibs to revive that guy on the ground.

I updated the SetPoint to 4.0 version (unistalled and reg-cleaned first the old one) and the result is zip, nada.

I tried all the settings again.

I even took time to send email to Logitech about this.

setpoint needs to run as an administrator for the side button configs to work thats all

go into the task manager right click the process choose properties goto compatability tab and tick the run as administrator checkbox
