How to overclock my 7600GT?

I wanna know if I should overclock my 7600GT, and if you can overclock it. I've never did any overclocking so I dunno even know where to start.

Mostly I wanna overclock it for COD4 and to reduce the titan lag when two titans are side-by-side in a game.

My exact model:

I dont think overclocking that card for titan lag will help. Im sure thats more of a CPU thing.

You can usually use the overclocking tool that comes from the Nvidia site. Its called NTune. It lets you increase the clock speeds and memory speeds of the card.

Have a look at CoolBits.

It enables overclocking in the standard Nvidia control panel.
But my own experiments with my 7900 GS gave me around 10% extra.
At 20-30 fps where you need it that will be around 2-3 fps extra.
Is that worth voiding the warranty and risking damage to your card?

Yes it is IMO worth voiding the warranty.

I have had bot 7600GT and 7900GS and did overclock them both. Both were worth the overclock and gave nice boosts. Not spectacular like that you could raise the resolution but were definitely helpfull in tight spots where the fps drops to stutter. It will not help titan lag tough.

Check the google 7600GT + overclock and you'll get some idea how high you can put your cards. I ran my 7600GT somewhere around 640 Mhz for core and 775Mhz for the memory and 7900GS 550 for core and 800 for memory. But it depends the temperatures.

Coolbits is nice but I believe the newest drivers won't allow it anymore. I could be wrong here, but nTune will definitely work nicely.

Hmm nTune won't install it tells me I don't have a supported mobo.
