At the moment im ooking at Ament and iiNet but im not sure which is better.

If at all possible could any of the australian people here or anyone who knows if such things please give me some hints into the best providers.

If your in perth iinet is the best in most parts except maybe subiaco where you can get internodes adsl 2 just go to speedtest.net type your suburb in the search thing and see whos fastest in your suburb

i get 4000/1000 iinet at home 9000/800 iinet work

right sorry guys i was very bland in what i said info wise. Im living in Perth and have been looking at iiNet and Westnet, have not heard of internode until now. Im living in Waterford near Como so subiaco coverage isnt a problem. Im looking for a very fast connection sped, ADSL2 probably around the 20Mbps range, but what i have found when looking for deal is none of them have the unlimited cap?

Cheers for all the help guys :)

my adsl2 through iinet is 110 for 40gb onpeak 40gb offpeak before it gets shaped

youd need to check which exchange your phoneline is on as not all exchanges have been upgraded by all companies for their own adsl2 gear

if your on the como exchange though you should be able to get whatever you want

                    Edit:

you should be able to do a phoneline search on each of the isp's sites

heers for the help guys, im curently looking into iiNet although i have heard bad things from them in th past such as they almost went bust but thy seem to be very ppular over here.

The one thing i dont understand is the fact that i want an UNLIMITED download each month like my previous deal with NTL back in the UK. Why do all the ISP here have caps on their usage? My work and my fathers work mean we have to download many giggs of stuff from the internet each week and 40Gb cap each month simply isnt going to cut it.

Where are the unlimited usage deals?

Where are these unlimited download usage deals? I know that 40Gb may be enough but i would rather know i have an unlimited usage and not have to worry about it.

I just had a quick look at some plans quickly and Internode have usage allowance up to 80GB on their highest plans, and that seems to be about the highest you can get for a home user. Unfortunately "unlimited" usage is virtually impossible to find in Australia (from what I've seen, I haven't looked into it in great deal).

I'm not on Internode but their public servers for 2142 have always been very reliable in comparison to some others, and if you like to download BR files, you can only get them from the Internode servers only if you're an Internode customer.

Check out the site sixpak posted earlier, it has all ISPs and their plans, and if you would like more information you'd be best asking about plans on their discussion forum.
