hi im the unmarkedone and not been playing for long my problem is i bought battlefield 2142 (its great) no probs directly with that its when i bought northen strike and tried to download it ea link says i dont have battlefield 2142 strange ive been playing it for a few days now all i know is that it dosent appear in the my games list in ea link and dont now how to get it there and therefore unable to download it i would of posted my screen with medals etc but dont know how to do that either im afraid does anyone know how to get round this problem? please i look forward to your replies im running with all the required specs on vista

I would uninstall EA Link and re-download it.

i uninstalled it an reinstalled ea link and signed in with the same details 2142 was regestered with and still not in the games list i tried to download it again using the download code and it refuses to let me as i said above

Go to this web site for your stats sig or use imageshack for screenshots, I'm afraid I can't help with your main prob but EA link is buggy pain in the a#*e, could try contacting EA direct but be prepared for a long wait for a reply.

ok think im getting there i removed both ea link and game first reinstalling ea link then 2142 upon it told me to patch update upon that reregastered and signing in with the user name on game not email upon which it allowed me to download northen strike at last i thought went to go into a n. strike server only to be told only to go back to original version of 2142???? what now also got to sort the mike out aswell damn thing wont pick any thing up on setup see if i can do that pic now mm get there one day lol all help still appreciated and sorry for grammar

well after doing a complete cleanup, defragr eg clean, and reinstall tried again same result untill i pulled out a spare ext dvd drive and hey presto it worked only then couldnt install patch download from ea link mmmm so downloaded it form another source n.s nowinatalled they emailed me back saying it was sorted ther end still cant use mic though but works in speech to text???and thanks :)

go into your audio setting in 2142 and make sure its turned on. Try getting on a pub teamspeak and see if your mike works there.

Geez, you know I really can't believe how many problems are possible with 2142 .

For the mic problem try checking to make sure it's set as the "default" mic. To do this right click the little speaker icon to the right of the bottom toolbar. Click "Recording Devices".

You should now see something similar to this:


Speak into the mic and one of the bars I circled in orange should fill up, indicating that is the active mic. Right click it and click "Set as Default Device".

Iwantcable thankyou my setting was on line in i have now changed this and green bar goes straight up cheers as for teamspeak i have not tried that yet call me stupid but never used it so i gonna have to learn that one i have downloaded the teamspeak program but thats as far as ive got on that one ea emailed me back telling me to download patch from http://largedownloads.ea.com/pub/patches/BF2142/1.25/
which i have done im now back online at last what a flippin rigmorale ive been through just to upgrade to northern strike now thats done i hope my mics ok now will let you know as soon as i get a reponse from someone in game and id like to say thanks again to all whos helped me through this now to try get started with teamspeak??!!and nearly had 4 consoles destroyed till someone put the last required bullet in gutted it should of been mine awell maybe another time that pic above well it cut and pasted so getting there on it i think lol

Teamspeak isn't really necessary to have unless you're in a clan or have friends you want to talk to whilst playing.
