  • How is cell internet gaming over a 3G network?

I have a Motorola RAZR V3xx that I use to tether to my notebook at work for internet (via USB). I'm currently on a normal cell network which for MMOs is fine, but for FPS like BF2142 I get an average ping of 450-500. Now they claim that a 3G network is suppose to be broadband speed. So I was wondering if anyone tried BF2142 or any other FPS on e 3G network and how was there ping?

Basicly are FPS playable over a tethered cell phone on a 3G network? How are expansion cards if not tethered?

It'll be much faster, but there is a download cap (it doesn't matter if they don't mention it, all of them do).

The ping won't be any lower, you'll still be looking at latencies of 500ms+. We have a bunch of 3G data cards at work, sometimes I end up using one at home to do work remotely on weekends, and doing remote desktop on a connection with pings of 500ms+ is frustrating to say the least, gaming on it would be even worse I'm afraid.
