The lastest patch that most of the player are using is v1.25 but keep a look out for v1.40

It changes the text you see on screen to make it clearer and is completely safe, PunkBuster will not kick you from servers for it. (PB is anti-cheat program but it still has a few bugs)

FFOLCKES unlocks mod is useful as it gives you access to all unlocks in Single player mode only but it means you dont end up wating unlocks on things that aren't that useful to you.

It doesnt affect your orignal installation as it can be launched in game and with the desktop shortcut it creates

Finally, the single player mod to let you practice the majority of the 2142 maps in 16/32/64 sized variations:
