My ATI x850xt was fried yesterday. Just got the ATI x1650pro and I'm trying to install it. I cleared all the old software from the previous card to start fresh but I'm having a problem getting the VGA drivers, I can't find them. Can anyone help ? I'm using the motherboard from a Dell Demension 4600, 2.66 P4, 2 gig ram with the new card and a 550 watt power supply. I've looked on the dell site but can't seem to locate them. Can anyone steer me in the right direction ? I went and got this card today cuz I need to get playing 2142 again. Thanks

You can always get the latest drivers from your video card manufacturer.

o.k., I did that, downloaded the latest catalyst 7.6 and the control center. The card came with a disc that has the catalyst on it. So I guess I don't need the disc then right ? I tried installing what was on the disc and it said I need to download the VGA drivers from my chipset manufacturer. Is that waht I've already done but installing the catalyst 7.6. My chipset is :Intel 865 PE.
Sorry if this seems like a stupid question, you wouldn't be surprised if you knew the source. LOL
BY the way, I was able to play 2142 last night and it ran smoothly and at a higher framerate. Just want to make sure I have everything I need. Thanks as always for the help, especialy from you Sir. kaheiyeh. Impressive stats man on your profile.

I always go to nvidia for the latest drivers, and i always remove the old ones using driver cleaner in safe mode! This is the best and cleanest method of old driver removal i have used, works with ATI drivers , well most drivers really!
I know this was a thread about updating drivers but i thought that this was worth a mention (if it hasnt already)??
