    Sound Card issues

    i bought an creative x-fi sound card ages ago and had probs on installing it

    so i left it

    tried again recently and still cant get it to work

    its been placed in my comp correct i have a m8 who says i need to go into the BIOS and disable sound then unistall in build sound then install creative software the re-enable sound in BIOS thing is..

    i have no clue how to work the bios and been told i can properly screw the comp in bios

    any1 how i can install this correctly

    It's not that hard really. First uninstall all the drivers/software for your inbuilt sound. Don't know what kind of inbuilt sound you have but just look around in the bios (press del at startup to enter the bios) and see if you can see a setting for it anywhere, you should be able to find it there. Just don't mess with anything your not sure about in there. Once the onboard sound is all disabled just install your creative drivers and it should work.

      Uninstall current audio device driver, RESTART and enter BIOS.

      In the BIOS goto the advanced options, look for onboard device options, the AUDIO device should be listed with the onboard LAN and such, just disable the AUDIO device and exit saving setttings.

      Let machine restart confirm NO audio device.

      Turn off install X-Fi, Resart install drivers.

        well atm its realtek software and i dnt knw the driver so i think its inbuilt O.o
