Windows Vista with Battlefield 2142
I recently bought a Dell XPS 410 with 2g of ram, 7900gs video card, upgraded sound card. Battlefield 2142 will run but the game freezes up and I get a memory error "Battlefield has quit working windows will search for a solution". This gets very frustrating when online. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I have searched online and tried many solutions and nothing seems to help.

If you buy Vista now, you are paying to join yet another Microsoft "public Beta". Too many problems. Big resource hog. All the PC vendors were super pissed that Vista's release was pushed back and missed the pre-Christmas selling season, 'cause the whole deal with a new OS is to sell NEW PC's. Hello, McFly! I don't think you will see one iota of performance enhancement with Vista. Besides, there are what, exactly 1 DX10 game(s) and can you even buy that one yet? (Crysis). Save your money. Wait a year until Vista SP2 comes out, LOL. If you insist on being an early adopter, then you: 1) are spending way more $ than those of us who wait quietly on the sidelines for all the bugs to be smoothed out 2) have a lot more patience because you are going to spend a TON of time trouble-shooting glitches, conflicts, etc.
