My X-Fi Fatality XtremeGamer Pro messed up my 2142. And yeah, I get sudden screechy sounds followed by a system crash. Ok, after I reformatted I set the game setting to "hardware" and it works now with now crashes.

I tried setting the elevation filter to on rather than auto and got sound corruption but I might try again to see if the new driver has solved this. As for Crystaliser I set mine to about 70%. The effect is not that pronounced in games but it makes mp3s sound much better.

well at least u can all play!!! my sound card X-Fi platinum fatal1ty make 2142 crash... any ideas?

Hm i havent tried setting it to hardware, but ill try.
I get lags now and i dont know why. I went fron Ultra to High settings on sound and it helped. Im about to try the macrofx and elevation filter settings

I don't agree with Joe2. You need the console to fine tune your sound settings. Your CMSS-3D settings are different then mine, because you use 2.1 speakers, so I can't really give you any pointers on that. The settings can be changed with, for example, my 5.1 speakers so that I hear the surround sound at it's best. Moving a slider I can actually hear the sound moving from the front, to surround, to rear. You having 2.1 speakers won't be able to do this, but CMSS-3D will try to make your sound experience be as much like surround sound as it can.
As for the Crystalizer, best way to set that is to start some music and then adjust the slider untill you think the music sounds best.
Now you can't do the things I mentioned above with just the raw drivers, so I urge you to keep the console and play with its settings a bit.
