4 gigs of RAM overkill?

I run an ATI Radeon X850 ($150 to $200). After I prepped my computer I can run everything on high with little to know issues. My average FPS is 50 to 60.

I am running into a wierd stuttering that lasts for about a minute every hour or so but i don't think that is connected to the performance of my PC as it is running better then ever. Lots of others are running into the same problem too.
