    Building a Video Editing PC

    Hey fellas,

Been a while! my friends and i started a film production company, we are in the process of buying a "Black Magic" camera that will film at 4K resolution, we are now looking to build a PC capable of video edit and render. What can you list in terms of a processor, motherboard, ram, power supply and a hard drive.

Hmm, whats your budget? It could be an expensive computer. I would think you would need a good CPU, maybe a 6 or 8 core, plenty of ram, and lots of TB's of diskspace.

yeah thats what i figured, our budget would be 2000~4000 USD.

My friend who is the cinematographer asked the agent for Black Magic cameras here in Bahrain and that guy was like we needed Xeon procs, quadro 6000 gfx and 512GB of RAM.

the xeon and quadro i understand, i also read on forums that even a six core i7 and the GTX780 will suffice but 512GB of RAM? WTF! i was aiming for 32 or 64 at the most!
