Is this laptop worth it?

I'm helping a friend in buying a new laptop, but I haven't really kept up with the evolution of systems so I don't really know what's a good pc or not, and if it is really worth that price, so I needed some help from you guys.

Do you guys think it is a good quality/price deal or do you have anything better to suggest?
I'm looking for an asus if possible.

Hm, hard to say. I haven't priced any laptops in a couple years. specs look decent. my only concerns would be the smallish 1366x768 res on a 15.6" laptop. I wonder where the GT635m falls on the performance charts. and whats with intel now making dual core i7's ?? I thought i7's were all quad core... guess not.
in US dollars it comes out to $1232.

Also not a SSD drive, but it still seems high.

Of course I am assuming the price has been adjusted into US dollar value as well.

yeah, I also thought that was weird. I even corrected my friend when he told me it was a dual core i7, though he seemed pretty confident about it being a dual core

Well from what I heard Dual core i7's are mainly implemented in Ultrabooks, but they are still hyperthreaded.

check again, it says it has a 24GB SSD and a 1TB hdd.

thanks a lot for the help guys, it isn't necessary to worry that much now. I told him that laptop would do fine since it he doesn't really want it for gaming but rather to travel around with his work, and to be able to quickly access it whenever he needs. I think the fact that it has an SSD does the job just fine

Yeah, its one of those stupid hybrids of HP. I get why they do that, but it throws off my game :/
