    Alienware Dilemma

    Hello all

Well some money fell on my lap from my Grandma and i have been looking at Alienware. I wanted one since graduating high school back in 2007 but my mom would never go for it, too £££ oh sorry UK keyboard, its too $$$. Anyways been looking at two certain models the MX14 for portablity but i dont like the GT555m gfx they put in there then i saw the MX17 too big but the gfx is a 560m so better there.

    Then.....

I find MSI's gaming mobile powerhouse, ahs all the good stuff but gfx is a 570m!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! which is perfect! my only complaint though its not Alienware, dumb i know but for something i have been wanting since i was a teenager and finally got the oopurtunity dunno what to do, links below check them specs and give me your input please i want to pick something but am finding it difficult.

Conclusion: MX14 great! protable but gfx card is a let down GT555 GDDR3! .

MX17 way too big, gfx is better rest of options same as of slightly better than MX14

    MSI big hdd 1.5TB!!! a GTX570m GDDR5!!!! ok procs quad i7 @ 2.ghz and 8GB ram

Huh you know looking back at all thuis seems that MSI is the winner

only thing bugging me is the brand, would you guys know if alienware is a better build than msi? urgh

Thanks again Signa, tried that site, read a lot of reviews elsewhere as well seems that MSI just offers more bang to the buck so to speak. MSI gives you: Preselected:

          i7 Quad @ 2.2ghz

          8GB DDr3 ram

          GTX570m 1.5gb gddr5

          and a 1.5TB HDD!!!!!!!!

Alienware is a tad more expensive and i have to pay extra if i wanted the same ram, card, and hard drive :s screw it going MSI!

            The MSI is a beast!

If I had known about it before I bought the parts for my desktop, I might have seriously considered it.

The 780dxr is sexy as hell too, same price as the PC I'm building ... I used to travel a lot workwise and could've used something like that ... in the future maybe...

                          Re: Alienware Dilemma

Hey bro! kinda late to answer to it, dunno how much you have expended to buy an allienware laptop but i'm not a big fan of allienware neither laptops. i've had enought with laptops already and then i bought a nice pc about the same time you did. i've spent about 1600€ in a full pc (monitor, headset, keyboard mouse and the pc ofc) about 1200£ and i'm dead sure its not gonna fail me for the next 5 years at least... sure the laptop is nice for college and stuff like that but i can't really rely on an laptop again.

                          PC specs (overall):
                          i7 3ghz
                          8gb DDR3
                          2tb hardisk
                          GeForce 550 - i'm looking for a new one
                          P8Z60V-Pro (motherboard)
                          Asus ML238 (monitor)
random logitech with multimidia keys for keyboard
                          Logitech G500 mouse
                          GameCom 780 headset

                          -edit-

btw, i study multimidia so for a good quality for video/3D rendering is required a good pc..and ofc for gaming (:
