Laptop going into hibernation

I never had this problem but my laptop lately, when i close it's screen, sometimes goes into hibernation after a few time. i am pretty sure in my settings its set for the laptop to do NOTHING when i close its screen but it keeps doing it.
Whats been happening is, for example i want to leave my laptop turned on at night , and i leave it defraging my disc. I go to bed and when i wake up i notice it is not turned on and it's hibernating. When i turn it on i also notice that the defraging process is still like at 5% , wich means my laptop turned off like 30 mins after me closing it's top

This never happened before and it keeps happening i have no idea why, and again, im pretty sure my settings are set for it NOT to turn of when i close the screen

I suggest you upgrade from "Pretty sure" to "Absolutely certain" before you try anything else.

LOL, yep, double check your hibernation AND hard drive stand by settings.

and and yes i am damn sure that the pc is connected to the power :p

Do a simple test: Configure "Em Bateria" like "Ligado à corrente" and see if the problem persists.
If it goes away, then it looks like your laptop thinks it is running on battery.

And try timing it, 30 minutes exactly is suspicious, that has to be a setting somewhere.

edit: even after changing every single setting to " never shut down" after closing the screen it still ends up suspending

On my laptop, closing the screen suspends the screen and not the laptop. That's usually by design. If yours never did that before, did you update anything?

closing the laptop turns off my screen
if it stands like for a min it will stop working and all of the lights, the small ones in the outside layer of the laptop (ones that indicate if wireless /bluetooth are on etc :
(the ones you see on in this pic)



so as i was saying, all the lights go off and only one were a small light is drawn remains
