Need help with new builds.

So pretty much the other pc in my house died (not exactly sure what was wrong with it but someone insisted it was broken before I could take a proper look) and they want a new one mainly for browsing the web. So rather than buying a 100% new machine I was going to build one up using parts from my PC (I will buy some new ones) and use some spare parts/salvage some from the broken one.

So my two builds so far; (need help filling in zee blanks)

Family PC - web browsing
Screen - Dell 17 inch.
HDD -
GPU - 8600GT
RAM -
CPU - E8400/Arctic pro 7 cooler
MOBO - Asus P5q deluxe
case -
PSU -
Speakers - Dell setup.
DVD drive -

^ So I am going to use my mobo and cpu/cooler for theirs and buy my a new mobo and CPU. Just need to find parts for the rest of it. Like I said only browsing the web really so looking for as cheap parts as possible.

My PC
Screen - Samsung syncmaster 22 inch.
HDD - Seagate barracuda 500gb - Would like a new drive as well for extra space.
GPU - GTX460
RAM - 4GB Kingston hyper x DDR2 ( not sure what mhz, how can I check?)
CPU -
MOBO -
case - Coolermaster Elite 330
PSU - Coolermaster 650w.
DVD drive - Phillips something.

So I am mainly looking for a new mobo to go with a quad-core (i7?) Need suggestions. Not sure If I should get some different ram as well.

Looking to buy everything from the UK, through Ebuyer if possible.
