Possibly psu issue

Well here is my issue, I just built a new rig http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1702137

Those are the specs on it. Now I have been dual booting between XP and Win7. In XP my gaming has become unchanged. However in Win7 after about 30 seconds of Black Ops the pc shuts down. However it does not do it while playing COD4. My idea is its a DX9 v. DX11 issue. That when I play BlOps with DX11 its puts a strain on my psu and shuts the psu down. I have a Antec 1200 case so i'm running 7 case fans, thinking that was the issue I unplugged them all. It still shut down in BlOps. So my question is this, is running DX11 simply putting that much strain on my 500watt PSU, or is there another issue? Any help is appreciated as I don't want to just throw more money at it and by a psu without some feedback.

I think you may be correct on that. 500W on your system is cutting it close, I would think. Antec has a power calculator that you can try:

I plugged in what you gave and guessed on the rest on the low side and I have you sitting at 400W.

Its just a general idea, but if you put in your numbers and correct information that I dont have and you come to 450 to 500 watts, then it could be you are going over your amount of wattage. You also have to put into account if you are overclocking as voltages and everything go up as well.

Black Ops isn't DX11. It's pure, 100% ported DX9.

That's not to say there isn't some OS overhead fighting you, just that it's not the DirectX version.

650w should be min on dx11

MANY games, including newer ones, run better on XP, and very few actually use DX10 or 11. There is no reason not to have an XP dual-boot.

After inputting my number in the link you providing Crunch I come up with 538w. I would say i'm lacking I suppose. I appreciate all the help guys I really do. Looks like a new PSU is in order.
