Continous BSOD

Hello everyone, been a while since my last post.

I got back from Newcastle a little over a week ago and been in Syria and Lebanon vacationing since then with my family. I replaced some parts in my home PC, i have to systems a uni PC and a home PC my home PC parts that i replaced are the motherboard, ram and procs. They are a P5Q Deluxe, 2 DDR2 ram corsair, and a e8400 Intel CPU. Oh and i did install Win7 Ulti.

Now on with the prob, first off after replacing the parts i got a fan error, on start up it says "CPU Fan error!" i got that taken care off by connecting the fan wire to CPU fan outlet, so the error message is taken care of but now i keep getting BSODs continuous. It is right after the welcome page of windows that it bsods and reboots.

I plan to put up a video of this later on, as well as i will try replacing the ram into different slots and try starting with one ram stick. Thanks for any suggestions made and help offered!

in this scenario i'd just reinstall. unless by "Oh and i did install Win7 Ulti. " you mean you've just done one.

This is important info also.

However, without any further information I am going to GUESS what the issue is.

You installed Win 7 Ulti before the ugprade and then after replacing your motherboard started getting the errors. Well, that motherboard has a different chipset on it from the install of the old system and that is causing your blue screens.

If that is correct, you can do one of two things;
1. Try to boot into safe mode and install the chipset drivers for that motherboard.
2. When 1 fails, format your harddrive and reinstall fresh.

I usually do a clean install when a motherboard is upgraded. Too many things change driverwise for the OS to handle.

I will have to put up a picture or a vid to show the error the damn thing is too fast. I will try the reinstall option but i installed the OS when the new parts were put in. I left the Asus CD in my apartment in Newcastle so i do not know how to get the drivers until i get back to ncl and back to bahrain in the summer.

Okay so after reading what you guys suggested this does not sound like a hardware issue but more of a software one. Thanks a bunch for replying guys i will try to get any drivers from the Asus web and do a format.

Oh and btw the Win7 install was a full format not a upgrade as i had WinXP SP 3.

UPDATE:

Well i tried the chkdsk on my second internal HDD and as the process was approaching 75~80% it BSOD'ed i was not in my room when this happened but i knew as it self restarted. It does not bsod on the primary dirve.

Doing a google search most people got this BSOD by installing software that was outdated, like Easy CD Creator or outdated chipset drivers. Did you install any old program that you've had for a few years?

You can go to Asus website and download all the drivers you need. As long as you have internet, the days of needing a disk are over.

That suggests it's your CPU overheating. Have you seated the HSF correctly?

funny as it cant possibly be the CPU my brother was doing some tests for me before the vacation by playing Saboteur and Red Faction all is well with no BSOD.

Well up till now i formatted the pc both internal drives, no BSOD just yet its been running for a while although i did not try any intensive programs just yet. I am having some trouble installing the Marvell driver in order to get my wireless working. Will report back in a while but up until now no blue screens! Thanks for the help guys.

I would personally check my temps asap with speedfan or some other type of monitoring software.

Okay guys, i have been playing metro2033 and CoH, today when i opened the PC to play eastern front i got the below error after the BSOD reboot. My temps from core temp are: below image

I'm gonna have to agree with crunch here and suspect that replacing a mobo without an OS reinstall could cause the errors. But now your saying you reformatted and its still crashing?

I would test the ram using memtest: www.memtest86.com
- download the iso and burn to cd. boot that cd and let it test the ram. (could take hours).

Also perhaps do the same with your hard drives. check the manufacturer of your drives and see if they have a utility to test the drives or check s.m.a.r.t. status.

^ good idea! will do. I do want to stress thought that the BSOD is less frequent as it were before the reformat. I am going to do what Signa suggested for now. Thanks to all for the help you guys have been great!
