One is USB the other uses a 3.5mm jack. I don't know anything in particular about USB v.s. 3.5mm so I can't say if that makes a difference. The USB doesn't have any specs really... I assume it's probably 40mm drivers as in the other one though. Probably same frequency range as well.

An USB headset has its own build-in soundcard, so it doesnt use your normal soundcard.
In this case it means you will get EAX support and other Creative technologies that your old card may not support.

The specs looks identical if you visit Creatives site, so the two headsets are probably based on the same hardware.

If you already have a good sound card, then get the Fatal1ty of those two, although you're probably better off going for separate headphones from the likes of Sennheisser and a lapel mic.

This is true. I don't really buy into the "gaming headphone" market as they usually seem to be priced higher than other headphones of equal quality. I just use a desktop USB mic actually. It's a bit bulky, but rather convenient at the same time.

But like others have said, it depends on your sound card. If you have a nice sound card go with the 3.5mm if you don't go with the USB one or buy a sound card.
