Hellooooooo fellow gamers and techies!! been some time collectively i had some 8,500 words to write divided by three (three essays) so i was off TGN for a while with a few visits to the PC dept. though.

First Happy new year everyone i know i am late :P second just wanted to say hi and how all you TGN'ers are doing!?

Third on with the topic, there is this website i mentioned in earlier threads called Advanti Online Google it if curious. the above site is its blog. Now their prices are really awesome and right now i am really considering purchasing from them. My specs are on the drop down list if anyone's interested. Now i am interested it what ATi has to offer considering Nvidia's slandering prices on the GTX295.

I would like to know more about this card, all in my life i have dealt with 2 ATi cards ever the 9550 and the HD2400XT and had no probs i am not sure about this % series beast on issues of compatibility with games, windows, how are the drivers working and overheating so if anyone could could fill me in that would be awesomely appreciated! Thanks all!

EDIT: Whoops! after reading through my post i see no drop down list lol TGN has changed since the last time i was here anyways for specs see below:

Motherboard: Abit IP35-E

Procs: E6750 Stock 2.66 (cooled by AC7 pro)

GFX: OEM 8800GTX stock (regular cooling)

RAM: 2GB DDR2 Corsair XMS (purple heat dissipation ones lol)

PSU: Corsair 650w modular

Case: Antec 900 (wanna get rid of it grrr)

No need to know my screen its not integral in this thread but if you feel so i will post it. Oh and my OS is winXP Home SP3 very soon will be changed to the awesomeness that is Win7!!!

Screen Resolution may be useful though.
I'll let someone more knowledgeable about the current GPU's answer your question though.

It should be almost twice as fast, in games that arent CPU limited

Hi guys!

Well i decided i am going to purchase new parts, gfx, cpu, and motherboard. Now for the GFX i chose to go with the monster of a card HD5870 1GB this i can get my my local (Bahrain) website for dead cheap. But for different parts which are the motherboard and processor are slightly difficult as this website based in my home country is rather limited i will have to purchase them from the UK and prices in the UK are no joke.

So anyways i am ready to make a purchase for a motherboard p55 chipsets i assume to be compatible with the new procs. So please help me in picking whats best for me, if you are wondering i am using my system for gaming, and slight multitasking. Games i play most are MW2, Company of Hereos, future games Bad Company 2, Mafia 2, Mass Effect 2.

For your MB i would get one of these two. Both have usb 3.O and SATA 6g. It's the only real future proofing we can do. USB 3 will probably be in full swing by year ends
