Suggested pc build

right now, with a $1500 budget for the tower only, (no peripherals) what would you purchase to build a nice strong game pc?

If you want to spend more money, you could go for a better gfx card, double the RAM, double the HDD, etc.

For $500 more you could get a Core i7 X58 mobo with 8GB memory and a 5970. But thats just me.

My list had an i7 and a X58 mobo. Tri-channel is the way to go if you want to upgrade. Like I said, he could double the RAM from 6 to 12. I wouldn't go with 8gb though. The i7 is overkill anyway, since an i5 performs almost the as well (you couldn't tell with the naked eye) and costs less.

I think anything more than 6GBs is a waste of money at the moment. The most games I play don't even touch my 4Gb fully.
