Needing input for my coming upgrade :)

I plan to upgrade/ get a new pc the next three months, maybe January, maybe later, that depends.
Would be great to get some input on what I'm planning to get.

My links are all to a german page, just click "Mehr Details" to get all the specs.

CPU: Amd Phenom 955
You can call me an AMD fanboy or whatever, but I won't get an intel, thats for sure.

GPU: either the ATI 5850 or the ATI 5870, I'm really unsure there if the higher version is worth it or not. Any input on XFX?

Motherboard: Here I don't really have any idea. I don't need crossfire or any other stuff like onboard-sound/graphics (except the onboard graphics would somehow work when I don't need the GPU card while surfing or anything). Just a simply AMD chipset board.

Concerning RAM I'll likely get Corsair as I never had problems with them, maybe 4GB, maybe 6gb, I'm not sure if 6GB are already needed.

HDD: This one?

Sound: At the moment I got a X-Fi Fatality, but as I'm giving my young brother my old pc either I need a new one or I have to get one for him, any input if upgrading to a newer creative/other card would be worth it for me, maybe a pcie card or something.

Power supply: No idea, thought about be quiet or likelier enermax, input appreciated.

General things: The pc can be loud as hell when I play games but should be really silent in idle mode. The price is not really a big concern, it should just be worth it, crossfire for example is in my eyes not worth it.

As said, any input is welcome concerning the hardware and also the manufacturers of all those pieces. :)
Case: I like Zalman's G1000 series but any alternative is welcome.

Can't help you with AMD stuff, you really should consider Intel, why don't you want to go Intel?

LOL I understand how much you like Intel Dan but sometimes people want to settle for a more affordable system. I like Intel better too. Anyways I will proceed to helping out Kradath :)

I can help :) I am building an AMD system as well and I have some advice for you. First of all you should go with the 965 rather than the 955 since it has better performance. As for your graphics card I would recommend the 5870 because it is better than the 5850. This GPU will be able to run most games on max except Crysis (yeah I know that is frustrating). As for your motherboard I do not know our budget but I would get the $200 Crosshair III Formula. If you want something cheaper you can get $90 Gigabyte GA-MA785GMT-UD2H. As for sound the Crosshair III mobo comes with its own X-fi sound card but the Gigabyte does not. If you want to buy a separate one than you could get another Fatal1ty since I cannot think of another one. Power supply get an HX 750 from Corsair or if you want cheaper get TX 750. [By the way I think Crossfire is worth it only if you want to play Crysis on max settings, but if you do not play then don't. I will though LOL because I cannot help it :) ] As for the case I think this is good: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119160. It is a bit larger than yours but it really depends on which one looks better after you get the appropriate size.

I don't need to play crysis on max, but I think I will spend the extra money on the better gpu as you said and I'll going to take a look at the other parts you mentioned, so thanks. :)

@Dan: AMD is like a tradition for my family if you want to see it that way and their prices are at the moment a bit better.
