Replacement for 8800gtx

My 8800gtx's both just died within a few months of each other. I am looking to replace at least one for now. The cheapest one I have seen on eBay is $75. Can I do better than $75 with a different card or a different reseller/vendor website? Looking to play mostly mw2 at the highest settings possible.

For $75, no. That's probably 4670 territory in terms of pricing. If you can only spend that much, a 2ns hand GPU is the way to go.

The 8800TX is getting a little though and it's power + heat output is horrendous (well, compared to today's cards)

I think you'd have quite an epic bottleneck with 2 x 8800gtx's and a stock E6600.

there is nothing wrong with both those parts and @ pci -x16 express,its depending on motherboard too.

If you upgraded the mobo for pcie2 what would be the cheapest mobo you would buy?

I like evga's lifetime warranty. I guess PNY has good warranties too maybe I will look at their cards too.

What do you need to run mw2 all settings as high as they can go? My monitor is the vx922 viewsonic.

Before you did any of that, I would either buy a new CPU or clock it higher. The E6600 is almost 3 years old now. It does bottleneck high end cards a lot (I used to have one!)

Well, it really depends on your budget.

I can do a budget of about $500. I do not know if that is enough for a video card and upgrades as well. I would prefer to buy new parts with warranties, instead of 2nd hand parts, for the coverage in case something goes wrong.

It's alright. The GTS250 isn't a great card though. It's a 9800gt IIRC.

Otherwise, looks alright.

anything below a GTX 260 or ATI 4870 isnt worth the upgrade

even those are only about 25% faster, you might save some on electicity though
